Ali

Ali is the new joker of our family. He likes to have a chat with everyone and when you leave for the supermarket he wishes you a save journey, ‘have a good luck’.

He introduced himself as a rapper. When he gained his own place in the family the tough rapper began to show his real face: a sweet boy with a soft nature. Ali likes to help with chores, but doing a char alone is difficult for him. There is too much going on around him, so he is afraid to miss something. He likes to help in the kitchen, cutting vegetables is his favourite. Ali is very clean. Every morning he makes his bed and his wardrobe is very organised.

Ali has lived on the street for a very long time. It began with a friend: a game to earn as much money as possible got out of hand. After the punishment Ali ran away. Ali visited his home regularly to say hello to his family and leave them some money.
We found Ali on the streets of Mombasa, high on glue. Sniffing glue is becoming more and more part of life on the streets. Especially when you are there for so long.

Ali is doing very well and since January 2017 he is attending school again. The break of 2 years resulted in an arrearage. Ali is aware of this.

When he is older he wants to become a pilot and a musician.
